Cellini Lodge #2206

Cellini Lodge # 2206 and the Order Sons of Italy in America (OSIA) give to many charities locally, nationally and inter-nationally. Many of these charities are sponsored by the National OSIA. They are the Garibaldi-Meucci Museum, Cooley’s Anemia, Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism, Gift of Sight, as well as many others. Dear Brothers & Sisters,

I write this message prior to our Annual Scholarship Dinner Dance but we have everything set for a fantastic evening. I know this will be another successful event and we will raise money for our scholarships to be given out later in the year. Thank you to the committee for another great event.

The month of March was a very busy month. All the installations throughout our area kept me very busy. As usual, due to the installations we did not have any social functions other than St. Joseph’s night. Everyone who attended will say it was a great event and a big thank you to Teresa and Michellina and their committee for a job well done.

This April starts Cellini off with many things. Of course spring has begun, even though the winter was warm as a whole. We must dust off our shoulders and get ready for another year of great times and events at Cellini Lodge.

We start off with the Grand Lodge function of Cooley’s Anemia on April 3rd. This event always brings in a lot of money for the Grand Lodge Foundation and we at Cellini have always supported it. A thank you to MaryLou Rando for making sure Cellini is well represented at this event. I believe there are 25+ Cellini members attending this event.

Next we have our Grab Bag Bingo on April 12th at Marcus Christ Hall. Please contact Marta Nunziato if you are interested in attending. If it is as successful as last year, I may even call the numbers again.

On April 21st we have our Atlantic City bus trip to Bally’s. I know many people have asked about this trip and if you are interested, please contact Salvatore Squillante to see if any seats remain available.

I am trying to put together a trip to the Garibaldi-Meucci museum on April 29th. If you are interested in attending, please contact me directly for all details.

To touch on May quickly, we have our Mothers Day brunch on May 6th and Night at the Races on May 11th. Please contact Grace Ferrara for Mothers Day and Cathy Kilfoyle for Night at the races if you are interested in attending these events.

I want to thank all the members of Cellini Lodge for supporting me this past year and I look forward to your continued support over the next year.

Congratulations to Cellini Lodge’s President Luigi Squillante for being elected to his second term.  NYS OSIA President Thomas Lupo and National President Joseph DiTrapani were on hand to welcome Cellini Lodge President Luigi Squillante and his new slate of officers during the installation ceremonies on March 5th 2012.
